World Breastfeeding Week Intervention

In August 2025, our foundation marked World Breastfeeding Week with a community-based intervention in Kuje Area Council, Abuja. The program brought together mothers, caregivers, health workers, and community leaders including the village chief to raise awareness on the importance of breastfeeding for child survival, nutrition, and maternal health.

Beyond sensitization, we provided direct support to participants, including per diem allowances, food items, and personal effects to promote hygiene and well-being. To further empower women economically, we organized a skill acquisition session on soap-making, equipping participants with practical knowledge to improve their livelihoods.

Through health talks, interactive sessions, and demonstrations, mothers learned about exclusive breastfeeding practices, infant nutrition, and the long-term benefits for both mother and child. The intervention created a safe platform for dialogue, enabling women to share challenges while receiving guidance from health professionals. This initiative reflects our commitment to improving maternal and child health, promoting economic empowerment, and fostering sustainable community well-being.
